Hi, I’m Kathryn

I was born and raised in Arizona and have lived all over the state. I grew up in southeast Arizona, lived in Flagstaff to attend NAU, (moved to Maine for gradschool but couldn’t handle the winters), and ended up back in Arizona.

A little about me…

I graduated with my BSW at Northern Arizona University and my MSW at the University of New England. Since gaining my BSW in 2011, I’ve been working with children and families. I spent about four years providing therapy and counseling services to children and families in their homes and then spent another five years working in community mental health with children, families and adults.

I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and have worked with children and families for about 16 years.

I am also a board approved supervisor for LMSW’s looking to complete their required supervision for licensure and am an adjunct at both ASU and NAU in their respective Social Work Departments.

What I’ve discovered…

I specialize in providing therapy for women.  I work with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, life changes, work stress, family and relationship stress and who have experienced trauma.

I am passionate about women’s mental health. I’ve spent many years of my career working with women in different phases of their life and dealing with different stressors. Many women face pressure and are dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, high pressure careers, difficulty in relationships or with family, etc. Questions about identity, values, and purpose can bring anxiety, self-doubt, or even a sense of being “stuck”.

What We Can Do Together

Parental Therapy

The counseling I offer for parents creates space to explore your own upbringing. We can explore how you were parented and how those experiences are shaping the way you parent today. You may be intentionally doing things differently than what you grew up with, and while some of those changes feel good and are working well, others may be more challenging or harder to shift than you expected.

Individual Therapy

I’ve also spent the last almost seven years working with individuals of all ages, experiences and backgrounds. Through that experience, I’ve found a passion in working more and more in the realm of women’s mental health. Whether it’s societal pressures, life transitions, relationships and families, everyone has a unique perspective and experience. I see my role as helping you make sense of and understand that experience and how it impacts you now.

My focus when providing therapy is to be in the moment with you.

Therapy can be a place that is so vulnerable, honest, and difficult. I want to show up with you every session and have you know that I am being present and curious about your experience.
